So what are the benefits of using fibre optic lighting?
Fibre optic lighting offers:

The pictures on the left are examples of use on Jenal, in particular the 9 external white down-lights to illuminate the walkways. The sun-deck illumination, which like most of the other UFO on board systems, has a switch to stop the colour wheel at a chosen colour - usually white. The hall way has 9 uplighters, the circular wheelhouse stair lights are white and the galley - saloon ceiling is festooned with more fibre optic lighting.
