Jan Ament (right) and Leo (Ament's specialist stainless steel and aluminium fabricator) test the new RIB resting frame Alan designed. Its purpose is a safe resting place for the Silver Marine RIB when parked on deck or quayside rather than its below-deck garage in the forepeak. Alan's stainless steel design has a further purpose of holding the RIB 'on-station' as the life raft when JENAL negotiates seaways. The frame easily comes apart into 4 pieces for simple storage and has 4 rubber feet to prevent scratching the coachwork paint. |
